Well, my plea for a few more dollars was answered the following day! I can’t name the contributor publicly, but he knows who he is – Thanks!
Between the response to the $80 plea, a few donations at the recent Arthritis Foundation Volunteer Recognition event, and a few checks, we are now at $3125. With the biggest campaign/publicity events yet to come, the coffers should begin to fill. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but every little bit helps and creates more momentum.
Training Ride to Maine
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am starting to take frequent long distance rides to work out the kinks in the equipment and build some stamina for the saddle. To that end, I took a ride last week from Schwenksville to Portland Maine and returned the following day. Overall it was a little over 1,000 miles with no issues. Much of the time was spent in the Eastern Corridor traffic, so there was much more time in the saddle that I would normally spend for this distance – just about 22 hrs. All went well – no mechanical problems and physically felt great – could have gone a few hundred miles more.
